The fact that Colbert was off this week really brought into focus how much of a void he’s going to leave after the final show. I was happy to see that Disney/ABC are standing by Jimmy Kimmel. This appears to be a dying genre, I think more for political reasons than for the lack of an audience, although I’m sure they are hard to monetize. People with a lot more media business savvy than me haven’t cracked that nut yet, either.

Stephen Colbert is off this week. His last show is 5/21/2026. I’m sure as heck hoping that the whole thing streams somehow, because I haven’t had broadcast/cable TV in a long, long time.

This is one of those times where I’m bending my own guidelines. Ali Siddiq [wikipedia] has something to sell, but he also has a great message and the sales pitch doesn’t dominate the interview.
