Per CNN, Trump now says he will extend the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely, until Tehran has submitted a proposal to end the conflict permanently. In the meantime, the US blockade of Iranian ports and shipping will continue. Iran, for their part, asserts (correctly, under international law) that the blockade constitutes an act of war, and violates the current (and any) ceasefire… so I suppose we can expect the Strait of Hormuz to remain closed.

For now, Trump’s brilliant negotiators (Jared and Witkoff) have apparently left Islamabad, and JD Vance is still in DC.

Not much else to say. I assume that Trump and his minions got their purchases in before the markets closed this afternoon…
