Here is one possible reason: There must be SOME entity that denigrates his actions and thoughts, 24/7, with no relief. Why, otherwise, would he spend SO much time and effort, trying to convince the world, about how intelligent he is, how healthy he is, how no previous president has been as qualified as he is to be the Chief Executive? In normal life, we deal with different situations regarding social interactions. There is a bell curve, with most associations being average (or “normal”). At one end of the bell curve, there are those who are our best friends and those who love us and, at the other, those who do not like us or, indeed, hate us. Dealing with the latter situation/s, if we do not wish to live in an adversarial atmosphere, we can simply turn around and walk away. The current world population is, reportedly, around 8 billion. If we walk away from someone who hates us, it must be possible to find at least a handful of people at the other end of the spectrum who are friendly to us. However, what if the entity that hates you is actually part of you: your subconscious, or super-ego, or whatever term you wish to describe it? I suggest that this is what drives 45/47. Firstly, something happened to him in his early childhood (*), that convinced him that his mental powers were substandard. He compensated by becoming an angry bully. He also became a narcissist, in other words, his conscious mind told him that he, and everything he did, was “perfect,” and he should never admit to either a personal fault or a faulty action. At the same time, he realized that everyone, to a greater or lesser degree, had the same spectrum of faults that he exhibited. Thus, the easy solution to being blamed for any error was, simply, to accuse his audience of that same fault, so that they would look inward and not accuse him. (In Psychology, it’s called “Projection.”) Similarly, he found that a conscience would be a hindrance to his newly found success. Thus he learned, early on, that if he told a lie, he would not be struck by lightning. He found that this technique worked well for him. Back to his mental powers: the typical acceptance SAT score for an incoming student at M.I.T. is 1400 out of 1600. Reportedly, 45/47’s score was 970. This would disqualify him from acceptance at any of the top universities. Others, known to be highly intelligent (e.g., Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, who served 1916 – 1939, graduated from Harvard Law School in 1877, famously achieved the highest grade point average in the school’s history, a record that stood for approximately 80 years; Albert Einstein, Richard Feynman et al; et al. None of these spent time telling their audience how brilliant they were – they didn’t have to; it was obvious). BTW, How well would 45/47 do on a game show like, say, “Jeopardy!” ? Not only that, but he has been referred to in the press as a buffoon, all his adult life, and he has resented it greatly. One may recall when, in 2011, at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, then President Barack Obama made a remark at Trump’s expense, which got a large audience belly laugh. But, Trump was clearly angry, and didn’t even smile. Shortly after, Trump started the Obama Birth Certificate false accusations, to punish a non-White, brilliant, editor of the Harvard Law School newspaper, recipient of a Nobel Peace Prize, who dared to make fun of a brain-damaged White Supremacist. Taking a broader view of Trump’s driving principle: His need is to be a narcissist, one who sees himself as superior to anyone else on Earth. He cannot accept that he has faults that his subconscious keeps on reminding him. He regards ANY person or ANY entity that does not come to show loyalty, or kiss his “ring,” as his personal enemy, to be taken down at all costs. Therefore legal firms that sued him, Impeachment Committees, institutions of Higher Learning, all educational bodies, the CDC, juries, the list is long; ALL have found his intellect less than stellar, and he now has the power to try to bring them ALL down, because he NEEDS to be the most brilliant in every field. And another thing: in destroying the detailed infrastructure of the American Government institutions, as he has done since starting his second Administration, WHO in the world benefits most from a weakened America? I suggest it is his Most Trusted Guru, from whom he gets so much advice, Big Brother Vladimir Putin, who has ambitions to rule the entire world. Said Guru advised him to install Heads of Department who were un- or under-qualified to run those departments. (Anyone remember the mid-90s TV mini-series “Amerika!”, starring the recently deceased, Rhodes Scholar, Kris Kristofferson? That story was set at a time, 10 years after America had been invaded by the USSR, and how Americans were coping with the changed government. It would be good for those who would like to preserve our damaged democracy, to re-air this series). (*) Maybe he suffered some trauma; he fell on his head or somebody slapped him upside the head, and it damaged the frontal lobe of his brain. He appears not to have passed through the normal development of the brain beyond the age of about eight years. In Ecclesiastes (1:9), the wise King Solomon remarks: “There is nothing completely new, beneath the sun.” Thus as a comparison, I mention the well-reported case of Phineas Gage: From an online search: In 1848, a 25-year-old railroad worker named Phineas Gage was blowing up rocks to clear the way for a new rail line in Cavendish, Vt. He would drill a hole, place an explosive charge, then pack in sand using a 13-pound metal bar known as a tamping iron. But in this instance, the metal bar created a spark that touched off the charge. The explosion drove this tamping iron up and out of the hole, through his left cheek, behind his eye socket, and out of the top of his head. Amazingly, he didn’t die, but recovered (to a degree).But the tamping iron destroyed much of his brain’s left frontal lobe, and Gage’s once even-tempered personality changed dramatically. Dr. John Martyn Harlow, the physician who treated Gage after the accident, in an 1851 edition of the American Phrenological Journal and Repository of Science, wrote “… We have been informed by the best authority that after the man recovered, and while recovering, he was gross, profane, coarse, and vulgar, to such a degree that his society was intolerable to decent people. Before the injury he was quiet and respectful. (…)” Gage’s famous case would help establish brain science as a field, says Allan Ropper, a neurologist at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. “If you talk about hard core neurology and the relationship between structural damage to the brain and particular changes in behavior, this is ground zero,” Ropper says. It was an ideal case because “it’s one region [of the brain], it’s really obvious, and the changes in personality were stunning.” And in the past little while, we have seen 45/47 depict himself, in online photos, wearing a crown; wearing Papal garb; appearing as the Christian Savior, all the while ignoring his duties as the protector of the 330 million American population, but spending his time attacking Americans, thus diverting attention from his known association with the late Jeffrey Epstein, and his probable sexual involvement with underage women. And now, the time has come for him to be relieved of his position by invoking the 25th Amendment, since it is clear that he is incapable of fulfilling his duties as required by our Constitution. Since we have seen that Republicans in both Houses are terrified to vote against him in an open vote, the only way to ensure success is if it is a secret ballot. Also, the constant distraction from the online platform of this antisocial liar, called, of course, “Truth” “Social”, (what else?), needs to be silenced.
