Community Spotlight: Beta version is a safe place to make mistakes - try it out [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2026-04-06 Especially if you write stories because the story editor takes some adjustment. I’m an “embrace change” kinda person and it frustrated me enough that I stepped away to snarl and recalibrate. Even if your stories are collections of news items or images with copy/paste text, it will take effort to get your story organized the way you wish due to the requirements of the new story editor system. Also, queues don’t exist as we know them — and there is no group queue so we will need to figure out a way to write for your group. Reblogging is easy and intuitive so you can schedule and publish from your own page (in story editor) and then reblog to the group. ADDED FROM COMMENT BY BELINDA RIDGEWOOD The way you can write for the group is, the story editor now works the way it SHOULD have all along: if you add a publish group to your story in the editor, and then you publish or schedule the story from within the editor, the story will publish through the group you designated. I set up a Faux KosAbility group and you can test out joining groups by going to that group page and requesting admission. After joining, the group Admins must change your status to Moderator or Administrator before you can reblog to that group. You can check out the story I posted to try out pasting in the text, Bluesky posts, and an image I had previously composed in a Google doc: Not legit Overnight Science News: The US has entered its Fahrenheit 451era – saving science from Trump. It illustrates a confounding aspect of the editor — the “elements:” rigid individual boxes within the draft. But the text and image pasted in and published okay, albeit with weird blanks where the editor imposed “element” boundaries.
