Messing with AI interviewers is cathartic [1] ['Grant St. Clair'] Date: 2026-10-12 If you've been engaging with the American job market lately, first of all, I'm so sorry. Second of all, you've probably run into an AI-powered "automated recruitment agent": in other words, an AI bot that the company makes you do a one-sided interview with as part of the extended humiliation ritual that is landing a job. Being forced to grit your teeth and pretend the soulless image staring back at you is another human worthy of your time and respect is grueling. So much so that I'm shocked it's taken someone this long to start messing with them for a living, the practice of which has become my latest rabbit hole. Graham Dot Zip reminds me a bit of a Longmont Potion Castle for our digital age (and if you don't know who that is, please do yourself a favor and look LPC up). The formula is simple: get into as many AI-handled interviews as possible and mess with them in the absurd, unhinged way only a human possibly could. Without the social awareness or context to know better, the AI invariably goes along with it, burning the company's tokens en masse and injecting a bit of levity into what's otherwise a soul-crushing, dehumanizing process. I hope Chick Bongo never gets his job.
