A timely Time Warp tribute in memory of Tim Curry [1] ['Jason Weisberger'] Date: 2026-09-21 A month ago, a "Time Warp" parody would have been an easy tribute to Tim Curry. However, Britain's new Patriot Platform has been sending groups of masked, black-clad anti-immigration "activists" into the streets. Hundreds of these bigots blockaded Dover, demonstrators confronted the RNLI in Portsmouth, and the group's leader later marched masked followers into the Daily Mail's offices. The Marsh Family looked at the choreography and thought Rocky Horror. We wanted to pick a song from The Rocky Horror Show in tribute to the wonderful Tim Curry (who sadly died last month) – who, among other stellar credits across his amazing career, played Dr. Frank-N-Furter. So this is our live attempt at parodying "Time Warp" – the hit song from 1975 with lots of spoken word, weird energy, dark intent and suggestion, and loony choreographed dance moves. The glam rock and roll song was written by Richard O'Brien and Richard Hartley, and in the stage show, served as an encore (led by Dr. Frank-N-Furter). … The comparison in the title and chorus links back to the developments in Europe/Britain in the 1920s and 1930s, when in Germany, Italy, and here, roaming paramilitary groups were coordinated to link militarism, nationalism, fascism, masculinity, and intimidate their enemies and those they blamed for decline. Marsh Family Songs The title makes their historical comparison explicit, and the song reaches across the Channel to Germany, where the far-right AfD recently won the Saxony-Anhalt state election. Noted fascist Elon Musk sent his heart out to them, while dictator aficionado Donald Trump called the outcome a "really big night." In my youth, the Nu-Art Theater in West LA was the place for Rocky Horror, and the United States was not a welcome place for a fascist regime, but here we are. The Time Warp was more fun when it was fictional.
