[1] [] Date: 2026-09-18 This photo of a classic glass maple syrup bottle was posted on the Things for Ants subreddit. This page shares ant-sized objects. The creepy idea here is that the tiny glass handle is just the right size for some little ants to sit inside of and eat the sugar (ew!). This photo has me wondering what in the world this tiny handle on the maple syrup bottle is even for? Is it for someone with very little fingers to pick up the maple syrup bottle? Is it for decorative purposes only? This maple syrup handle is the kind of thing that I've always noticed, but I've never actually thought about. I haven't looked up what it might be for because I am still trying to guess, and it's more fun imagining it might be a secret pathway for ants to crawl around in. I've never attempted to pick the syrup up by this handle and I don't think I'll try (because I can envision how that might end). More about ants and sticky things: Boing Boing has covered a spider that flings ants 30 centimeters into its trap, and physicists who calculated how long it takes to drain a bottle of olive oil.
