This site supercharges your library card with reciprocal libraries [1] ['Gail Sherman'] Date: 2026-04-14 Voracious readers already know that Libby is a great way to borrow electronic books, audiobooks, and magazines for free from their local library. However, libraries are forced to essentially rent e-books and audiobooks, paying multiple times what consumers would pay, so wait times can be lengthy. What many don't know is that they might be eligible for one or more additional cards. Many libraries have reciprocal agreements with other libraries or library systems for their patrons. Many large city libraries also issue free cards to residents throughout the state, and many offer cards for a reasonable fee for non-residents. Reciprocard is a search engine for reciprocal library cards. Search for a library, and Reciprocard returns a list of reciprocal libraries, as well as cards that are available in person or for a fee. Reciprocard is the perfect companion to a tool we have covered previously, Library Extension, which checks e-book and audiobook availability right from Amazon, Goodreads, and multiple other book sites. The site's creator has an active thread on Reddit and is very responsive to feedback. The search currently covers libraries in the United States, but the developer has not ruled out future expansion to Canada or the United Kingdom. Support your local public library.
