TL;DR: Get a near-mint condition Microsoft Surface Pro 6 on sale for $229.99.

The RAM shortage is causing tech prices to shoot up, but refurbs are actually still pretty affordable. This grade "A" Microsoft Surface would normally cost $849.99, but right now, it's only $229.99, and it's in near-mint condition.

More about the Surface Pro 6

Under the hood, you get an Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. That setup is plenty for everyday tasks like writing, spreadsheets, browsing with too many tabs open, video calls, streaming, and some light creative work. It feels more like a normal laptop than a tablet trying to keep up.

The 12.3-inch PixelSense touchscreen is one of the main reasons people like this line. The 2736 x 1824 resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio give you a bit more vertical space, which is nice for documents and web pages. It supports 10-point touch, and it works with a Surface Pen if you want to handwrite notes or sketch right on the screen.

On the front, there's a 5MP camera that supports Windows Hello face sign-in, so you can unlock the device by looking at it. On the back, you get an 8MP camera with autofocus and 1080p video, which is handy if you ever need to grab a quick scan of a document or record something without pulling out your phone. Dual microphones and 1.6W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio handle calls and casual watching just fine.

Ports are varied. You get a full-size USB 3.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Mini DisplayPort, a Surface Connect port, a Type Cover port, and a microSDXC card reader if you want more storage. The built-in kickstand lets you tilt the screen to a comfortable angle, whether you're typing with a Type Cover, drawing, or just propping it up to watch something.

These tend to sell out fast, so if you want one, here's your chance.

While they're in stock, you can get a Microsoft Surface Pro 6 on sale for $229.99.
