Sled dog films itself using $700 camera as chew toy [1] ['Gail Sherman'] Date: 2026-02-06 While nothing will ever top the picture-perfect selfie taken by a macaque with a stolen camera, a sled dog in Greenland is vying for at least the top five list of animal photography. An Associated Press crew on a shoot in Ilulissat, Greenland, discovered that a 360-degree camera was missing. Searching the area where they last remembered using the camera in the pitch-black darkness, they found it. The camera had some new "texture" added by way of sled dog teeth. Remarkably, while using the $700 camera as a chew toy, the dog had pressed record and produced a delightful video of itself enjoying the purloined object. The dog took its prize and hid under a sled, but thankfully pulled it out, or the camera and the footage would have been lost forever.
