The Chair Company is really, really good [1] ['Grant St. Clair'] Date: 2025-12-07 It's always refreshing when a creator you like takes a big swing and nails it. SNL alum and I Think You Should Leave creator Tim Robinson has lived and flourished in 4-minute sketches for years, which made some worry when he announced a longer-form project. (Even Detroiters was largely episodic.) How much of that delicious awkwardness could you squeeze out of a single continuous story? With the first season of The Chair Company now in the rearview (and a second already on the way), I can say those fears were unfounded. The extra room to breathe helps Robinson's comedy develop rather than go stale — every step of Ron Trosper's quest to unravel the convoluted truth behind the titular chair company maintains the tension that I Think You Should Leave thrives on. With stakes that escalate over an entire season rather than a single sketch, The Chair Company goes to truly bizarre places, and it's worth the watch if you've ever chuckled at Robinson's comedy. It's like a cosmic gumbo. It almost moves to the beat of jazz.
