The Honest Game Trailer for ARC Raiders is spot on [1]

I'm usually not a fan of Honest Trailers or Honest Game Trailers. Despite featuring the great voice-over artist Jon Bailey (AKA Epic Voice Guy), I just don't enjoy watching things I love get torn apart. I've been playing ARC Raiders like a full-time job since its release about a month ago, watching YouTube videos to find that damned snap hook blueprint.

The algorithm kept pushing the Honest Trailer for ARC, and I resisted at first, but eventually gave in. I feel seen. The video has the best description of what it feels like to be a Raider: "its brutal gameplay that makes you feel like a paranoid squirrel going through withdrawals." I genuinely almost yelled "Friendly!" at a stranger while walking my dogs between runs, and I've looked for the elusive prickly pear under foliage.

Bailey captures the joy of making friends, the heartbreak of betrayal and getting shot in the back, never using your best gear for fear of losing it, and the game's greatest thrill: upgrading your chicken and buying it hats. There's even an unexpected Meerkat Manor reference. I don't know if I misjudged Honest Game Trailers, or if the game is just too good to drag, but everything you need to know about ARC Raiders is in there—except the critical fact that you can throw a rubber duck to distract the murdery robots.
