Take-Two promises BioShock 4 isn't dead [1] ['Grant St. Clair'] Date: 2025-11-10 Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that BioShock 4 is still in development, despite years of troubled production and multiple studio leadership changes. The long-awaited sequel has faced significant development challenges over the past 12 years since BioShock Infinite's release, with recent reports suggesting another internal overhaul of the project. Speaking to IGN, Zelnick acknowledged the difficulties while defending the company's approach. "We have had some ups and downs along the way. That is accurate. And we have had changes in studio leadership," he admitted. The CEO emphasized the pressure to honor series creator Ken Levine's legacy while delivering innovation: "We have very big shoes to fill on BioShock because of the legacy of Ken Levine, the legacy of what has gone before, which has been so successful." Zelnick reinforced Take-Two's commitment to quality over quantity, stating their strategy "has always been to make the best entertainment, not necessarily the most entertainment." He noted that "consumers are not okay with okay" and that the company is willing to "fail fast if we're going to fail," even after making "some hard decisions relatively early on" regarding the project's direction.
