He has completed a Bachelor's degree in criminology at Colorado State University in Pueblo, USA and a Masters of Science in Criminal Justice and law enforcement at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona USA . Damola is a restorative justice practitioner and social justice philosopher. In 2019, he founded the National Coalition of Ride sharing Partners (NACORP) in Nigeria alongside other comrades who were leaders of Associations representing and fighting for the needs and concerns of platform workers. He developed the social justice for drivers theoretical framework as the core principle of (NACORP) to help achieve the organizational mission, goals and objectives. As the National coordinator of NACORP, he designed the structures of the coalition across 25 states where digital platforms operated, and monitored and supervised the 12 committees that were responsible for the implementation of the overall activities of the coalition across Nigeria. Damola has continued to fight for the rights and the social protection of digital labor workers in Nigeria through organizing deliberative forums with stakeholders, litigation and lobbying for the drivers bill of rights, and unionization.Bill Mutoro is a trade unionist currently working at Transport Workers Union Kenya as the National Assistant General Secretary and head of future of work project. I have an undergraduate in Mathematics and Computer Science, certifications in Data science : Labour policies & globalization. He is also an active member of the Kenya Internet Governance forum and Africa Internet Governance Forum.Dr. Ruth Castel-Branco is a Senior Lecturer and Research Manager of the Future of Work(ers) Project at the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies, University of the Witwatersrand. She has a BA in Geography and African Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2005), an MA in Development Studies from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (2012) and a PhD in Sociology from the University of the Witwatersrand (2021). Previously, Ruth worked at the International Labour Office in Mozambique on social and maternity protection. She first became interested in questions of labour as a student activist, eventually cutting her teeth as a labour organiser at DC Jobs with Justice. Ruth is an alumnus of the International Centre for Development and Decent Work and a fellow of the Open Society Foundations’ Inequality Fellowship. Her research interests include agrarian transformation and the changing nature of work, (informal) workers’ rights and organization, the redistributive role of the state and social protection.
