Interventions Helping Young People from Adversity Thrive - India [1] [] Date: 2023-06 The University of Southampton is partnering with the Indian NGO Dream a Dream and Greenwood Mentors to evaluate the impact of psychosocial educational programmes for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Early adversity due to poverty disrupts children's cognitive, emotional and social development. Dream a Dream has a proven track record of delivering brief, locally facilitated programmes to equip children and young people with the skills needed to succeed in life. The partnership with the University of Southampton and Greenwood Mentors aims to evaluate this work and examine mechanisms of change, so that these programmes can be optimised and made available more widely. Presentation will be followed by discussion with panel.
