About Student and Scholarly Services Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff. About the Role As the Student Events Officer, you will support the administration and delivery of critical student assessment, commencement and graduation events. This includes – exams, mid semester tests, supplementary and special exams as well as commencement student events and graduation ceremonies. You will provide essential support to the small high-performance teams which plan, manage and deliver these high-impact and high-profile events. Such support will include responding to student enquiries, student administration, event logistics and delivery. Responsibilities include: Support the Event Producer in coordinating an annual calendar of major events including Melbourne Commencement Ceremonies, Exams and Graduation Ceremonies Build and maintain positive relationships with a range of suppliers and entertainment Create comprehensive event production schedules for every event Assist with the delivery of commencement ceremonies, exams and graduations events on site including logistics and administrative tasks About You You will have sound stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work within and across teams to achieve University-wide outcomes. You will also have the ability to work autonomously and under direction, exercising sound judgement and decision-making abilities. You also bring excellent attention to detail and have an outcome focused orientation. You will also have: Undergraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience The ability to quickly and competently gain knowledge of assessment and conferral activities and their effective delivery to support the student experience To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check.
