About the Role The Agriculture Manager position is a multifaceted position and supports the Mallee Regional Innovation Centre (MRIC) activities and strategic initiatives in the Victoria Drought, Adoption, Resilience and Innovation Hub (Victoria Drought and Innovation Hub). The Centre is the North-West Irrigated Horticulture Regional Node within the Victoria Drought and Innovation Hub. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders within and external to the region, including researchers, government, primary industries, agencies, peak bodies, associations and individuals. You will also be required to engage with stakeholders within the University of Melbourne and the broader Victoria Drought and Innovation Hub partners and Nodes. Responsibilities include: Developing, implementing and monitoring project plans and budgets, providing detailed reports to the MRIC CEO and Victoria Drought and Innovation Hub as required Working closely with MRIC CEO, University and Faculty Finance and Research Support teams in the administration of agreements, budget, planning and forecasting processes and ensuring deliverables are met. Assisting in the promotion of the Centre’s drought activities and projects, and communications relating to specific programs and partnerships in collaboration with the Centre’s staff, consultants and the Victoria Drought and Innovation Hub to ensure a coordinated, integrated, and consistent approach to stakeholder relations and community engagement matters. About You To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as an effective team player. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to produce and present high-quality information to a range of audiences. You will also be confident with your analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise judgement, initiative and provide sound options for decision-making. A flexible approach to working hours is required, this role will require some work outside of hours and travel. You will also have: A relevant degree, and/or experience with industry consulting or equivalent project management and stakeholder relations experience within an organisation or multi-stakeholder environment. Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple projects across the project life cycle including project scoping, planning, negotiation, budgeting and management of tasks to deadlines, use of project management systems and databases, and ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams. Stakeholder communication and engagement experience: ability to network and effectively influence, represent the Centre professionally and credibly, influence a diversity of stakeholders with tact and diplomacy, build collaborative relationships (internally and externally to the Centre), specifically with research, government, technology developers and industries. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, administration, and organisation of meetings.
