About the role: As the Senior Research Officer, you will have the opportunity to provide essential support to the Director, working across multiple projects in a research team environment within the Institute for Learning Sciences and Teacher Education (ILSTE). You will provide high-level professional, administrative and research project support to ensure the ILSTE meets its strategic objectives and maintains its position in undertaking quality research. You will need to have: A postgraduate qualification in psychology, education or education policy and extensive relevant research management and administration experience. Demonstrated ability to provide high level analytical advice and input into scholarly publications, conference papers, reports, professional or technical contributions. Demonstrated experience in conducting fieldwork and ability to negotiate effectively and encourage participation of groups and individuals in research development. Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a research team in a complex organisation, with experience in overseeing the work of research assistants. Demonstrated experience in undertaking high quality research activities including literature search, collation and review, analysis of qualitative and/or quantitative data and development of research findings. Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a number of projects at one time, achieve required outcomes and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including an ability to effectively present research findings. This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People Check (WWVP) (ACT only). Total remuneration valued to $122,298 - $136,729 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $103,343 - $115,538 (pro rata) pa (HEW 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff (we provide choice of fund in accordance with relevant legislation, with the University's nominated default superannuation provider as UniSuper). Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
