About us The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) is the peak body representing the interests of over 31,000 physiotherapists in Australia. It does so by advocating for access to quality physiotherapy services, providing leadership in the wider health landscape, creating lifelong information and learning opportunities for members, and promoting the value of physiotherapy to the community. The Physiotherapy Research Foundation (PRF) promotes, encourages and supports research that advances physiotherapy knowledge and practice. The PRF provides grants to support innovative physiotherapy research in order to produce a scientific evidence base that enables practising physiotherapists to adopt the latest, safest and most effective techniques when providing care and treatment. The APA is proud to have a great working culture and it is under pinned by our values: Accountability, Collaboration, Courage, Excellence and Respect About the role The objectives of this new role are to play a key role in PRF targeted grants, provide support for APA and PRF research activities and to manage the Pat Cosh Trust and its grants program. This role works closely with the General Manager, Policy & Government Relations, PRF Research Advisor and APA Senior Policy Advisor to contribute to the research agenda of the APA and PRF. Key responsibilities Plan, co-ordinate and execute the PRF’s targeted and tagged grants and the Pat Cosh Trust grant programs, including the development of research proposals, grant application materials and assistance in the evaluation of applications. Work with the Marketing and Communications Department to enhance the profile of the assigned research projects. Support the coordination and profile of APA research partnerships and research promotion activities, including development of communication briefs. Prepare meeting papers, presentations, reports and publications as required. Work collaboratively across policy and project teams and broadly across the APA to ensure an evidence driven approach is implemented across our work. Liaise with the research and university sector on designated APA and PRF projects and partnerships. Other relevant duties as required. About you and selection criteria Excellent writing skills and experience in preparing written documentation such as meeting papers and research proposals. Experience in research design, analysis and reporting. Research evaluation and project management skills. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Microsoft Office proficiency. Demonstrated skills and confidence in liaising with strategic and research partners. Experience in working independently on substantive problems and collaborating in a team-oriented environment. The ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks. Understanding of the academic and research sectors. Understanding of physiotherapy and its culture and role in context of the health care system. Qualifications A relevant research qualification or experience in health, allied health, public health or social sciences.
