The Institute has over 180 staff and postgraduate students across the University's Nathan and Gold Coast campuses and hosts the International Water Centre, Coastal Management Research Centre and the Sustainable Water Future Programme. We undertake high-quality research and postgraduate training in freshwater and estuarine ecology, catchment processes and water resource management. Job Description This Research Fellow position will contribute to an externally funded, multiple-disciplinary research project developing greenhouse gas mitigation technologies. In addition to this research role, this position will also be responsible for lab routine activity and management. Key responsibilities of this position include: Design and conduct laboratory research and field experiments that contribute to the research objectives of the externally funded projects. Collect, analyse and interpret the data from laboratory and field experiments. Develop a good publication record in high impact, international, esteemed peer-reviewed journals. Manage and contribute towards the preparation and formulation of publications, figures, presentations and research reports arising from the research. Assist with the development of research proposals, as appropriate. This is a full-time, fixed term (12 months) position based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. Qualifications You will be hold a PhD or equivalent qualifications work experience in soil science or environmental sciences or a relevant field. In addition to the above, you will demonstrate: A track record of publication in high-impact journals. Demonstrated ability to coordinate a diversity of research programs and participants to ensure effective team communication and collaboration. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision to meet competing deadlines and work effectively as a member of a team and communicate with a range of stakeholders.
