The School teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in law, including the Bachelor of Laws and the Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Criminology with a focus on law and technology and practical skills. The School has an agenda of building a strong research culture that includes international collaboration, competitive grants and high-quality publications. As the new Senior Lecturer, you will lead, innovate and embrace diversity to enrich the opportunities of colleagues and students, preparing and delivering classes including face to face, blended and online. This includes developing and supporting academic programs and working with the academic team in the development of program change and innovation. You will also be expected to mentor and counsel students on academic matters and supervise PhD students. You will be focused on providing energetic leadership in teaching and research and a contribution to the school’s research output, income and impact is required. You will foster and build links with government, business, communities and the profession in Australia and internationally. About you To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching, associated administrative duties, coordination and curriculum development at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In particular, demonstrated capacity to teach across the Priestley 11 units in the LLB, but a proven record in teaching criminal law will be advantageous. Demonstrated commitment to innovative education, including blended learning formats, online teaching and the use of case studies, role-plays and/or simulations in the learning environment. A research track record that evidences prominent national standing and impact, as well as the ability to be competitive for purposes of grant funding and research supervision. Demonstrated commitment to leadership and service to the Law School, university, and broader academic community.
