About the position

The Research Fellow will assist in the management of an Australian Research Council funded Linkage project that will explore alcohol and tobacco consumption among lesbian, bisexual and queer-identifying (LBQ) women. The project involves an innovative partnership of LGBTIQ health and alcohol/tobacco use research experts coupled with leading community organisations.

The Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) conducts world-class research and education on the social dimensions of sexuality, gender, health and human relationships. ARCSHS works collaboratively with other researchers, communities, community-based organisations, government and professionals to advance knowledge and promote positive change in policy, practice and people’s lives.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

Completion of a PhD or equivalent qualifications or research experience.

A record of publications, conference papers and/or reports, or professional or technical contributions which provide evidence of strong research potential.

Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing.

High level organisational skills: the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions, all with minimal or no supervision.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Experience in the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies and evidence of success in securing research funding.
