Please join acclaimed author Ms Nanjala Nyabola, Dr Trevor Ngwane (University of Johannesburg), Dr Ian Moll (University of the Witwatersrand), and Ms Tessa Dooms (Rivonia Circle) in discussion:

Does 4IR represent a new mode of production or an extension of existing capitalist relations?

What are the implications of 4IR technologies for the organisation of production and the balance of power between labour-capital?

How can 4IR technologies serve an emancipatory purpose?

The Future of Work(ers) research project is jointly funded by IDRC and the Ford Foundation. It explores how digital technologies are reshaping the world of work(ers) and the implications for inequality in the global South.

This is the first in a series of dialogues by SCIS & FES. The policy dialogue series will take place over the course of the academic calendar, on the third Tuesday of the month from 3:30 to 5:00 pm, SAST.
