Communication Skill Needs of South Africans who Communicate Science Survey

The Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), together with the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) and the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) are undertaking research supporting the science communication and engagement programme.



The gathering of insights will enable the development of deeper understanding and generating new awareness into the skill needs of South African scientists and science communicators.





Your participation



We are inviting you to participate by completing a short survey focusing on your experiences as a person who communicates science in South Africa. By science we mean all fields of science – in research and practice.



This may include professional science communicators, natural guides, researchers, experts, medical doctors or engineering professionals, policy stakeholders, government officials, those in the natural and social sciences as well as broadcasters and journalists.



This survey is looking for people who communicate scientific information to a broader public audience than just specialists in a scientific field.



The survey could take you approximately 15 minutes to complete.





Your participation is voluntary



You are not forced to take part in this study. You may stop participating in the research at any time by clicking the exit button in the top right of your screen.





Confidentiality



All information collected will be securely and anonymously stored.



We do not record your name, address, or any other personal information identifying you.





Risks/discomforts
