At the Florey our mission-driven culture enables our people to collaborate, thrive, learn, make ground breaking discoveries and advance humanity through brain and mind science About the role: We are offering a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced administrator to work with research staff in the Clinical Cognitive Neuroscience and Vascular Neurodegeneration labs, Melbourne Dementia Research Centre, and Dementia Theme at the Florey Institute. This varied role offers the chance to forge collaborations with staff involved in other disciplines and realms of research, collaborating institutions, as well as building relationships with vulnerable populations including people with cardiovascular disease, stroke and dementia. The successful incumbent will work across various teams of researchers and assist with the management of finances, purchasing, invoicing, paperwork and other project tasks. The candidate will be responsible for: Provide general and administrative support to research staff Assist the project teams in collating, tracking and filing (hard and electronic) of essential documents and agreements. Support the preparation and maintenance of filing systems and database sharing. Assist with the preparation of Ethics applications and amendments as needed. Assist with writing of letters and grants and administrative support for grant submission and reporting. Detailed information and key responsibilities are available from the Position Description. This position is fixed-term, part time (0.4 FTE) until 31 March 2023 and is based at our Heidelberg campus. This role attracts an annual salary offer ranging from Higher Education Worker 5-1 (HEW5-1) $68,108 to Higher Education Worker 5-8 (HEW5-8) $78,236, commensurate with experience. About you: The successful candidate will have: Bachelor degree with 2+ years of administrative experience within a clinical, healthcare services and/or academic setting preferred. Ability to process paperwork and maintain filing systems. Strong organisational skills including the ability to work consistently and effectively at all times and take the initiative to run with projects and tasks. Demonstrated ability to work independently, organise own tasks and work effectively as a member of a team to achieve project goals and meet agreed deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
