The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-Region 2 is hiring a GS-14, Communications Advisor, in New York, NY, via an Environmental Implementation Fellows appointment. This position is eligible for regular telework, but this is not a remote position.

The position will serve a 2-4 year appointment as a senior advisor to the Regional Administrator on policies and procedures related the Region’s communications and public affairs strategies. As Senior Communications Advisor you will:

Advise the Regional Administrator and management staff on communication’s best practices and collaborate with other regions and headquarters communications staff to ensure consistency;

Serve as regional expert on the development of communication plans for specific communities or diverse audiences with different points of view; and

Establish relationships with media representatives and specialized groups to communicate new initiatives/activities that directly influence public knowledge and understanding of the Environmental Protection Agency policies and programs.

Salary Range: $136,035 - $176,842 per year.
