IAN: Fun History [1] ['Side Pocket', 'Liberal Thinking'] Date: 2026-09-20 A look back at some topics that I hope will be of interest. Despite its topic, this video about the dark side of Georgian Britain is quite entertaining. From the YT description: From a flamboyant highwayman dancing his way to the gallows and a sailor kidnapped into Captain Cookโ€™s crew to an agonising amputation without anaesthetic, Georgian Britain was a brutal place for ordinary people. The episode reveals how poachers, gin sellers, sailors and criminals fought to survive in a society where poverty could easily become a death sentence. ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ๏ธ This group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos.
