Impeachment – Slow or Fast? [1]

I’m finding it hard to articulate exactly what the new Democratic House might do to improve our sorry state of affairs, given their particular powers regarding revenue bills. As I try to figure out how to put revenue requests into words, I’m left with a simple request: impeach people who deserve impeachment. This is the duty of the House clearly stated:

“The House’s exclusive powers include initiating all revenue bills, impeaching federal officers, and electing the president if no candidate receives a majority of votes in the Electoral College.”

Not just the duty to impeach an out-of-control President, but “federal officers,” as well. I think most people on DK might agree – if ever there was a time, this is it.

The House followed through on impeachment twice during the Biden administration. Biden was dealing with the Covid economy, yet they made it look easy. We watched with fascination. This time around extensive lists have been made of various crimes and misdemeanors committed by the current administration. Here is one story posted back in 2025 (there are many other lists, updated – rolling in almost every day suggesting avenues of impeachment).

So I’m complete saddened to read current news stories telling us the new Democrat House is going to investigate the Administration in “roundabout ways” before considering impeachment. The excuse is “we want to focus on meat and potato issues.” What has been more destructive to our “meat and potatoes” than this Administration’s corruption? Here’s the choice of action by the House:

There’s nothing wrong with investigating corporations and entities in order to get what is stated as “easy information,” but that’s not how it works these days. The House should be able to do it all at the same time. That’s what we pay them for.

We are currently living in a Yo-Yo Nation. Everything is up for reversal, regardless of how sacred. The new House is going to have to work harder than it ever has. We are counting on them. This President is so destructive, who knows if there might not be 60 votes to remove him when we get there? But to abdicate a clear power in order to work on compromises on revenue bills seems a sorry way to start what has to be an exhaustive push towards major systemic reform.
