Slop” [1] ['View Profile', 'Bill In Portland Maine', 'Greg Dworkin'] Date: 2026-04-24 Kos is back, and fielding the usual user crankiness with the new DK6. The boffins have been dealing with the problems quite promptly and we’re all trying to get the hang of the system. A.I. is likely problematic since it’s not really about intelligence or artificiality than it is connected to Large Language Models where the word corpus is simply searched at speed by algorithms that attempt to replicate actual writing/speech/imagery. Robots are facsimiles that while mechanical and computerized, they do not have to be anthropomorphic, and do not necessarily have A.I. or pass a Turing Test. This is revealed when AI experts are asked about their favorite AI movies. The difference between the global North and global South becomes just as arbitrary, yet as with seasonal festival music the differences are artificial and arbitrary; for example Easter is not held at the same time everywhere, just like the lunar new year is different than one for the Gregorian calendar. Things that are signified can be arbitrary (not random) when thinking in different languages, We have lots of names for the same species of cat, but just try to name one that comes when called for reasons other than feeding. Similarly: “Anyone can be president” is not the same as “growing up to be president”. The following question was asked of an A.I. on one of my browsers: Is there a single, universally standardized emoticon specifically for “A.I. Slop” since the ‘term’ itself is being used as ad hominem? There isn’t a single, universally standardized emoticon specifically for “A.I. Slop,” as the term is a relatively recent internet slang describing low-quality, AI-generated content. However, people often combine existing emojis to convey the meaning of something that looks robotic but is worthless or messy. Common combinations include: 🤖🗑️ (Robot + Trash Can): Implies robotic garbage. 🤖🍝 (Robot + Spaghetti): Suggests a “mess” made by AI. 🤖🤮 (Robot + Face Vomiting): Indicates the content is so bad it’s repulsive. 🤖🥴 (Robot + Wavy Mouth): Suggests the AI is “drunk” or hallucinating, producing nonsense. 🤖🧠🚫 (Robot + Brain + Prohibited): Implies no human thought behind it. Since “slop” implies low-effort mass production, the robot face paired with something indicating disgust or waste is the most accurate visual shorthand. AI response in Browser A.I. Artificial Intelligence (or simply A.I.) is a 2001 science fiction drama film directed by Steven Spielberg. The screenplay by Spielberg and screen story by Ian Watson are loosely based on the 1969 short story “Supertoys Last All Summer Long” by Brian Aldiss. The Brandt Line is a visual representation that divides the world into the wealthy Global North and the poorer Global South, highlighting economic disparities between these regions. It was popularized in the 1980 Brandt Report, which called for resource transfers from developed to developing countries to address these inequalities. The countries North of the divide are extremely wealthy due to their successful trade in manufactured goods, whereas the countries South of the divide suffer poverty due to their trade in intermediate goods, where the export incomes are low. https://www.brandt21forum.info/Report_Introduction.htm Festivals in the Global North often feature large-scale events with significant commercial backing, showcasing diverse music genres and cultural expressions, while festivals in the Global South may focus more on local traditions and community participation, often reflecting cultural heritage and social issues. The differences highlight the economic and cultural disparities between the two regions. more Fasnacht music, alas… beginning with yet another Iron Maiden cover. The Carnival of Brazil (Portuguese: Carnaval do Brasil, IPA: [kaʁnaˈvaw]) is an annual festival held the Friday afternoon before Ash Wednesday at noon, which marks the beginning of Lent, the forty-day period before Easter. During Lent, Roman Catholics and some other Christians traditionally abstain from the consumption of meat and poultry, hence the term “carnival“, from carnelevare, “to remove (literally, “raise”) meat.”[1] DK Note on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): AI tools may be used to assist with outlining, editing, formatting, or refining text. Not everyone has access to professional editing support, and tools that help people better express their own writing are consistent with Daily Kos’ commitment to broad participation. However, content posted to Daily Kos must be meaningfully authored by the user and not generated solely and uncritically by AI. AI systems are prone to a range of well-documented issues, including factual errors, fabricated information, bias, and unreliable sourcing. Any use of AI to assist in drafting content requires careful human review and independent verification of all factual claims before publication. Users remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of everything they post. The use of AI does not absolve a user’s accountability for errors, misrepresentations, or violations of site rules. Disclosure of AI use is not required for minor assistance such as editing or proofreading. However, if AI plays a substantive role in generating content, that use should be clearly acknowledged. AI-generated imagery is not a substitute for photojournalism and may not be used to depict real-world events in news or journalistic contexts. In all other uses—such as illustration, satire, or commentary—AI-generated images can be used but must be clearly labeled.
