IAN 4/22 – Migration, a Two-Way Process [1]

['Tippy', 'View Profile', 'Back Of Bourke']

Date: 2026-04-21

Well, here we are and it’s like Day and Night (above) – it’s Way different, but at least all of the buttons work. BetaKos worked somewhat, but it had its own issues. This is our New-DK prototype diary, hope it flies!

Manfred Von Richtofen vs Snoopy Von Braun – he’s outnumbered, Snoopy has a wingman – “bogey on your six!”

Like WordPress & Viafoura, Snoopy & The Red Baron conjure a creative tension. Hope we don’t go down in flames! But if we do, then we’ll sneak behind enemy lines, talk to pretty waitresses, and order a root beer… and avoid the barbed wire! (and jump-ropes)

Speaking of two very different personalities (with differing programmes) tessellated into the same group, how about:

Not for beginners! Vince Guaraldi was a San Francisco Jazz master with Classical training. You’ll notice the difficult counterpoint between the LH ostinato (repeating bass) and the RH melody, which kind of ‘lock together’ in an off-beat rhythm – the 1st chord is on an up-beat, and the mid-measure chords are NOT on the main beat but one eighth-note off. Takes some experience with blues to get the modulations, and Classical training to get the counterpoint – simultaneous different melodies in each hand. Plus the bridge sections have some big, wild chords – it was simplified for TV.

Two different characters, blending/interlocking – to continue our WordPress/Viafoura theme for today. They mix like oil and vinegar – not! But we can shake that up and maybe toss ourselves a nice word salad! (a better one than you-know-who, anyway)… buon appetito!

And don’t forget the walnuts and smoked octopus… another contrasting but delicious pairing! 💙💙

Cliffs and Sea – here’s the Kohala Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii, where Dad has relatives – Captain Cook landed not far from here. Mahalo!

We did this quick-n-dirty diary on Wed. when the Site went back up, just to test all the embeds and spacings. Will put Itzl and the Boilerplate back next week! Hugs to all! 😉
