Kitchen Table Kibitzing 4/7/2026: Names [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2026-04-07 Eliot Hodgkin: April, The Months (1951) Good evening, Kibitzers! Welcome to my last KTK on the “old” site! I originally thought I’d have one more, that I’d be closing it down, but I misconstrued what they said about dates. I thought “We’re moving on April 15” meant that after April 14 , they were taking the site down, doing the 24-ish hours of work involved on the 15th (thus “moving on the 15th”), and re-opening on the 16th at the new site. But no! They meant they were closing up at the end of the day on Monday, April 13 , doing the move, and Wednesday, April 15 is the day that the new site is first open for business! Ready or not, here it comes! If you have taken a look at the beta site yet, by all means, tell us your impressions in the comments, and be sure to use plenty of text styles in your comments so we use them all up! And also, this is another diary theme I selected because you’d be sure to have additional songs I had to leave out, so by all means, add those. Heck, this was originally a two-parter, when I thought I had another Tuesday. The theme is women’s first names as song titles, and this week is just the collection with one-word titles that are only a name. Next week was going to be phrases with names; for instance, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes or Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. I’m sure I’ll ultimately post that part, but I’m not doing it until I’m sure you can embed a YouTube in a comment. Why do an audience-participation where the audience can’t participate? So, please make sure » you’ve checked that your current email is in your profile, » you know your password, » you’ve extracted all the information you need from kosmails and unpublished drafts that are not migrating. And then, keep calm and carry on! THIS POST IS ALSO PUBLISHED AT THE BETA SITE! PLEASE GO TO ITS LINK AND TAKE A LOOK AND KICK THE TIRES. More to the point, try making some comments there and see if you can make sense out of the resulting thread! We hear his son Sean, preparing to sing the song here, dedicate it to his mom. A YouTube commenter remarked, and I confirmed, that “yoko” means “ocean child”. So, make of that what you will about the complicated psyches of artists.
