Good morning, everyone. This Sunday’s featured artist is Marlene Deitrich. I’m sure we all primarily remember her as a film star from Hollywood’s Golden Age. Fewer are aware she left quite a portfolio of recordings. Most of them seem to be in German. Nonetheless, I found some in English, mostly from her later career. But first off,

Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum. Join us, please.

My town in Wisconsin has been under a Winter Storm Warning since 7:00 PM last night. We only have about an inch of snowfall as I’m writing this but we’re in for at least a foot more before this system passes through. We’ll have to see if we switch over to freezing rain before dawn. We’re supposed to before we return to heavy snow. At least I don’t live in Marquette, MI. This storm system could leave them with as much as four feet of snow. Being on the shore of Lake Superior, they are used to it but four feet is a lot for anyone to have to dig out from.

It seems this winter’s weather has been freaky for everyone.

Don’t worry, I made sure the outside kitty has a bowl full of wet food. Priorities.

We’re always looking for new diarists whether to assume weekly duties or for a one shot deal. Contact either officebss or Ozarkblue if you’re interested.

Now how about some music.

So what’s on your mind this morning?
