We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Programming [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2026-02-23 Tomorrow night, trump will will deliver a vengeance-filled lie fest that we are somehow calling the “State of the Union”, wherein he’ll no doubt lie at a record pace and somehow bring up the 2020 election he cannot let go of for whatever reason. It doesn’t matter how many times it’s all been debunked, investigated, turned inside-out, waterboarded, and so on. It’ll come up. You know it will. We’ll probably hear about eleventy thousand wars that have ended, the solving of inflation, and how hot of a country we are. While I blame no one for not tuning in (his voice is like cleaning your privates with a cheese grater — I get it), you’d be remiss if you missed Colbert’s last actual live show. Usually, Colbert is taped during the early evening (5-6 EST or somewhere near there), and then broadcast that evening. On occasion, he airs an actual live broadcast. His last one will in fact be after the SOTU speech by Sundowning Grandpa Befuddlepants tomorrow, 2/24/2026. Colbert is one of the only reasons to watch anything on CBS at this point. I will fight you over The Price Is Right. That’s a guilty pleasure. It’s fun to see people wildly over and under estimate prices, even if it’s just background noise. I’ll never forget the woman from 3-4 years ago that had a showcase of a new kitchen (refrigerator, range, microwave) and a Tesla. She bid $24,000. She, uhh, didn’t win. Anyway, the Colbert live shows are usually spectacular and, given that this is his last one and he’s out of fucks to give, I’m not sure what to expect here, but I don’t think any viewers will be disappointed. None of us (or at least his fans) are looking forward to him leaving in three months or so, and we should just cherish the time we still have. I’m quite sure he’ll land on his feet somewhere. He’s a rare talent.
