Hello again Kossacks [1]

These are sad days in our republic. It would seem that weaponizing hunger is now an acceptable political tactic. I grew up poor. We received government surplus cheese, peanut butter and dry powdered milk before food stamps were a thing. When my mother finally got approved for food stamps, it was both a godsend and a curse. Being able to get decent food was great, but the public humiliation of paying for it with what was essentially Monopoly money was traumatic in it's own right. When I was sent to the convenience store for milk, I would wait until no one else was in the store. What's happening now is a travisty to human dignity.
