Kitchen Table Kibitzing 5/10/25 [1]

why? because… me.

decide to retire and get called in for jury duty. obviously can’t discuss the case but the selection process… I got set in seat 1 on day one. gave a brief intro. same for juror 2. then we sat there for 3 days while others were being questioned. some were really grilled. in the end ...we never moved and eventually sworn in. we’ll be sitting in those seats thru mid-June.

so much for any retirement chill.

mostly worked thru the plumber pension paperwork. new healthcare starts in July. social security won’t start until November. need to dissolve the biz ...file with the state, close accounts, cancel policies, taxes, etc.

seems a lot of work just to quit working.

do have some chill time...

wet weather is fading away

...and flowers are popping

...lizards are warming

...as we enter the season of the weed-whacker.
