Kicking Back Watching the Show [1]

In the last sixty plus years the willfully ignorant tried their best to pull others into the abyss with them. Why? Because they are willfully ignorant and that is what the willfully ignorant do. I haven’t been perfect through the years myself. I have done some pretty astonishingly ignorant things. But I do pride myself with learning from the experience and not repeating. I have, however, observed that many don’t learn from their mistakes and repeat them over and over. Not me.

I have never voted for Trump. Just wanted to make that clear. Never liked Reagan either. I voted for Jimmy Carter twice and am proud of it. Navy officer, Annapolis grad, former governor of Georgia, stayed true to his wife, decent guy, smart nuclear submariner. I was able to get through college because of Carter’s policies. Thanks Jimmy.

With Jimmy Carter’s passing flags will be at half-staff for the next 30 days or so.

Fast forward to the present and we are looking forward to Trump 2.0 starting January 20th, 2025. When he is sworn in (taking an oath he has no intention of abiding) the flag will be at half-mast. A nation in mourning. Is Jimmy telling us something?

Realization: Trump is never going away in my lifetime. He is here to stay. He has brought in his billionaire cabal to help him destroy the middle class and he did this with help from the middle class.

Realization: There are those who will always work against their best interest. For the last 60 plus years I have avoided them. Task at hand … keep avoiding them!

Taking a break … sitting in the nosebleed seats … watching the implosion from the gallery. I am not happy about the turn of events. Not looking forward to Trump 2.0. Done all I could for over 10 years to prevent this but here we are. Not giving up, just taking a break. Will put out a few political cartoons now and again but for the time being … just observing the freak show now going on in Washington DC.

Feel free to take a seat. Sharing popcorn as long as it lasts.

Hmmmmm … needs more butter and salt.
