Itzl Alert Network: Tuesday, 31st of December, 2024: My Fictional Get Out the Vote Blitz [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-12-30 Inspired by Nizz, I am writing a fictional story about a big effort to get out the vote. The little dog is named Itzl. As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! Thinking about their passion for that, I realized that I would rather write fiction than consume fiction written by others. However. I do not have the skills of a good writer of fiction. I am not good at coming up with crazy plots, and crazy plot twists, to entertain my readers. And I truly cannot imagine creating any fictional characters. Those writers, apparently, write up a short biography of each of their fictional folks, that only that writer looks at, and then the writer looks at that as needed, as they write the events of the plot. So, I will use a realistic blitz for getting out the vote, as my plot. For the characters in my story, I will use folks from the real world. I will use some famous folks. And I will use all, or most, of you, my IAN friends. I say all or most, in case I somehow forget about someone. I apologize in advance, if that happens. But since I plan to write this in about five installments, all of you will have time to post comments, stating, “Uncle Mark, you forgot about me!” Then I can write you into the next chapter. The time of the story will be the summer of 2025. The location of the story will be the state of Wyoming. The main activities in Wyoming: Knocking on doors. Recording the door knocking activities and posting the videos on YouTube. You know how I like my YouTube. In my fictional world, the YouTube videos will reach so many voters all over the USA. Wyoming will simply be used as the stage for recording the videos. But before we get to Wyoming, we will, most of us, get on the train, the Amtrak train. So, my story details will include choosing which famous folks will join us IAN folks, and which Amtrak trains we will get on. I do not plan on writing much actual dialogue. Mainly stating who gets on what train, who meets who, and just a little bit of their conversations. So, I have already told you the main event of the story, the get out the vote blitz in Wyoming, all on camera, to spread the drama and joy to the whole USA. So, the next four or five Tuesdays will have my fictional train boarding, and my fictional journey.
