US Class War 2025: Is That Roaring Mouse Actually a Lion? [1]

It looks like the US racialized class war that far too many American intellectuals and legacy mass media (LMM) have, since WW2, pretended doesn’t exist has broken out (again) even before Mango Mussolini takes office. Like nearly everyone else who reads, writes, and/or comments on DK’s online content, I am amused at the irony of the MAGA and tech bro libertarian wings of the tRump political cult going at each other’s throats over the issue of H1-B visas. The MAGA movement was built largely on the white supremacist notion that “unqualified DEI hires” are taking jobs that should go to “qualified” white men. To be told by tech bro billionaire immigrants that they are not intelligent enough to hold high-tech jobs is evidence that what goes around comes around even for MAGA white guys.

In 2006, billionaire Warren Buffett tried to tell America that its class war was real and that his class was winning. Almost no one listened then, and too few are listening now. One strong exception to this national ideological blind spot was/is President Biden.During his single term as POTUS, he almost single-handedly demolished the twin myths of trickle-down economics (crumbs from the oligarchs’ banquet table) and neoliberalism (the “free” market as the answer to all social problems). He opposed these myths with the radical notion that the US economy could best be developed “from the bottom up and the inside out rather than from the top down.”

President Biden’s economic policies helped expand the US economy while lowering the rate of inflation. His Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Chips Act,and Inflation Reduction Act helped to claw back some of the funds that would have otherwise gone into the pockets of the oligarch/billionaire class and the wealthy corporations they control. Most of these funds have flowed to states with Republican-controlled governments.

His administration also worked to cap drug prices for older Americans; prohibit junk fees for essential consumer financial services; and execute partial or total forgiveness of student loan debt for over 5 million borrowers.

Unfortunately, nearly half of 2024 general election voters chose to take their chances with a lying con artist, convicted felon, and would-be tyrant. Let the Hunger Games begin!

When the Democratic Party finally understands that a majority of American voters want their government to defend them from the billionaire oligarchs that have purchased a second tRump presidency, it will start winning national elections again.

Enjoy the MAGA/tech bro oligarch mini-civil war. If we who fight for freedom and democracy figure out how to exploit and expand it, the resulting political upheaval may help save our democracy from tRumpian tyranny. Meanwhile, let’s GOTV in 2026 and 2028. Aluta Continua!
