As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. Why sugar is so addictive. ************************* The presents I got online for the offspring were supposed to arrive on Christmas Eve. They arrived on Boxing Day. I got the grandkids each a ramen cookbook done manga style. I got my daughter a book of cocktail recipes. Christmas dinner was fairly spare. I cooked the duck, but didn’t do any dressing. My daughter got meatloaf and potatoes, mac & cheese, and roasting vegetables at Costco. We had soft pretzels and a few other things, and ended up with only the pistachio baklava for dessert. No gravy, no dressing, no pie, no salad. I did say ‘fairly spare’. All bills paid that aren’t due on the first.
