It is my opinion, (I live in Dallas) that Paxton will not be satisfied until they put a woman in jail to prevent her from accessing abortion in another state. That is where this is all headed. A fetus conceived in Texas is the theoretical ward of the state of Texas, and Texas’ wishes supersede those of the woman.

Mandated, forced, or compulsory pregnancy contravenes enumerated rights in the Constitution, namely the 13th Amendment’s prohibition against involuntary servitude and protection of bodily autonomy and the 14th Amendment’s defense of privacy and freedom.

The actual support for the right to choose is far greater and more profound than the Cult of Fetus Worshippers can conceive. Blinded by their adherence to the rules of a mythical deity, the forced birth brigade cannot fathom that there is another possible perspective, an alternate truth. It is not a child in that womb, and it is not murder to terminate the development of a fetus. The conservative christian moral position is not a universally shared reality. Hard to believe, but very true.

The first writings about abortion and birth control date back to 1500 BCE. The prescription found on an Egyptian tablet was to prevent pregnancy by stuffing crocodile dung up her woo-woo, which might be indicative of how much women want to control their bodies. We have 3500 years of recorded history that says women have always strived for what abortion really means: Freedom.

And birth control smells so much better now.
