Et tu Fetterman? [1]

Here’s another first:



Fetterman signed up for Truth Social. Not that I have a problem with that. “Keep your enemies closer,” and all.



But my mouth actually dropped when I read his first “Truth”:

Fetterman advocated for Trump to be pardoned from the New York hush money case for which he was found guilty of 34 felony counts, comparing the case to Hunter Biden’s and saying they were “both bullshit.” “Weaponizing the judiciary for blatant, partisan gain diminishes the collective faith in our institutions and sows further division,” Fetterman said in the Tuesday evening post.

Mind you, I accept that we live in a world that is significantly changed since 11/5, and is likely to continue its descent into who-the-hell-knows. But to say that the Felon-Elect’s felony counts were “bullshit,” that’s just too damned far.



That Fetterman even suggests that Biden weaponized the judiciary against Trump cements my belief that even when people wish to read “both sides” in order to be informed, there’s one algorithm that is solidly against them. It’s a Right-hand turn off the freeway of Reality. And it’s making me very frustrated and, I don’t mind saying, upset.

This — and all the other upsetting “news” — comes following an incredibly stressful Thanksgiving wherein I learned that my own daughter is out there on the right wing now. I suspected as much from the snarky comments she was making during my time visiting her. I avoided talking about the election / politics with her as a result.



Later, after Hunter’s pardon was announced, she made it clear that she was disappointed since “we’re sending all this money to Ukraine …. and the Biden’s are corrupted by Ukraine money.” Once home, we talked about it on the phone. When I said there was no evidence of Burisma corruption — while providing actual evidence — I could almost hear her ears flap closed. Nope. She did not want to hear it. Not even the common sense question: “Don’t you think after seven years of investigations and 14,000 pages of bank documents if Republicans had found anything, we would know about it?” Her response: “Well, I heard they *did* find something.”



And what did that do to me? (She is my *only* family.) My blood pressure went sky high. To the point that I called my doctor and even wore a blood pressure monitor for 24 hours to determine what is happening (waiting for results). Tonight, I’m resorting to taking xanax again. But that will be another diary.



When we start to see Wray fold, and other Dems “willing to work with Trump,” I see a lack of understanding. Not even preparing to meet the moment. As if Jan 6, 2020 never happened. I’m feeling more anxious and depressed that I have… since January 2017. But at that time, I had my husband who is no longer here. I’m not sure what I will do to take care of myself. But I have a feeling I will be cutting back on my daily intake of “news.” Feeling alone, I admit.
