Democrats.com News Poll Initial Results #1: TV [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-12-10 Yesterday we launched our Democrats.com News Poll and shared it on DailyKos and across our various social media accounts. As of 8 a.m. Tuesday we have 2769 responses, and the topline results are starting to come into focus. Here is a snapshot in time with some observations. These results are in no way scientific or representative of the population as a whole or of Democrats. Given our audience, these results reflect older, committed Democratic activists. TV is still the top news medium, but email newsletters, news apps, websites, and local news are not far behind. (Unfortunately we don’t have past data to see how this is changing over time.) Despite all the hype about social media and podcasts (see breakdowns below), they are definitely second-tier news sources. Among progressive TV news viewers, MSNBC is #1, but PBS is a strong second. Network evening news and CNN are the second tier. Surprisingly, The Daily Show comes next — which makes sense when you watch Jon Stewart’s excellent interview with Ben Wikler. What do you think of this data?
