this is my first diary. just felt need to connect. going through huge ground shift and need to feel not so alone and isolated in the midst of change.

on 09/30/2024 spouse collapsed around 3am. heart failure. EMS came took him to nearest hospital shocking him repeatedly to keep his heart beating. two weeks in hospital. ICU. Pacemaker. CICU. catheterized. on high flow oxygen. unable to stand. a few days on telemetry floor. got him on “regular” oxygen. put him on medecine that gave him explosive diarrhea. he was trapped in bed and left in his own waste. all the while hooked up to all kinds of intravenous stuff and gadgets. they wanted to send him to rehab for a couple of months. all he wanted was to come home and, “be with my puppy”. home he came, on oxygen and with a pacemaker base station. they had to bring hime home in ambulance and carry him upstairs.

then, we got notice from insurance that we may be liable for $173,000 and change. everything was out of network. the stress we are are going through on top of the trauma is almost unbearable. i have reached out to a bill negotiating service to hopefully help mitigate. i am reaching out here, to community, trying not to isolate. my custom in times of crisis. have any of you been through similar situation and seen your way to the other side?
