Murdering Health Care CEOs is Not Morally Defensible, nor Is It Politically Useful [1]

The excitement about assassinations here on Daily Kos is about what I have come to expect as the endpoint of a grim de-cerebrated, flailing liberalism, with no legitimate plan about how to proceed after our asses were politically handed to us a month ago. History gives us plenty of guides, if we cared to fucking read ANYTHING besides blog posts, or stop gawping at fucking TV shows as a guide to moral political/life, and join the physical world of activism.

Here are a few of my thoughts, before we all pretend reality is like a James Bond movie, where we believe we can “shoot” our evil problems away like magic.

By the way, that asinine view, is not even shared by self-proclaimed gun-toting socialists. Even the Weather Underground quickly learned this sort of shit is a a terrible and stupid idea...

Now, United Health Care is uniquely awful in the healthcare world; my wife, who works for a non-for profit healthcare provider, has said as much to her team this morning. If this murder is related to an egregious denial of care issue, or healthcare cost question— it of course, STILL remains to be seen. Moreover, trying to parse the motivations of someone who thinks blowing away the guy at the top of a corporation to change stuff, is no different than trying to parse the motivations of the guy who inadvertently slaughtered the MAGA supporters in a bid to “take out” Trump.

The truth is “Who the fuck knows?” But it equally begs the rejoinder: “Why would it fucking matter either way?”

The result is not going to appreciably, fundamentally, change shit for the better...In fact, it will likely grease the slide towards more of the same, as an intransigent Trump oligarchy digs in. If people were as nearly as supportive of a non-profit healthcare, as we apparently are for spasmodic violence--with zero thought underpinning it-we’d have probably already re-elected Bernie Sanders and instituted some form of national healthcare...
