Communicating Climate Change Through Art [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-12-03 As part of Generation180’s “Climate Cultura” program, fellow Lisette Correa created two pieces of art about the environment. The first piece supports clean water, and the piece reads, “No one likes a Tóxica.” Using humor and a dash of Spanglish to bring awareness to the need to continue to fight for clean and safe drinking water for all people. The second piece reads “Qué Calor,” roughly meaning “How Hot!” The piece brings attention to the warming temperatures caused by global warming. In Lisette’s city of Atlanta, in just the month of June, the city had 18 days above 90 degrees, almost double the average expected number of days above 90 degrees. Lisette’s cool and creative pieces of art highlight important climate issues while targeting the Spanish-speaking community in fun and creative ways. You can see Lisette’s art and explanation of the pieces on Instagram here: No one likes a Tóxica Que Calor In addition to Lisette’s fantastic work, we want to share a new project we launched in collaboration with some amazing partners called “Energy for All Y’all.” Generation180’s newest project is in partnership with the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and the Southeast Sustainability Directors Network. We’re working together to encourage all Americans to take advantage of clean energy funds through the Inflation Reduction Act. If this work interests or inspires you, please visit the website, where you can read even more inspiring clean energy stories that make it clear that clean energy matters in communities across the country.
