What is a journalist? [1]

This will be very short, and is a result of a recent personal conversation. I realize now some people may not be clear on the difference between these two.

What is a journalist? And what separates a journalist from an opinion host?

A journalist goes into their work not knowing what news they are going to read today.

An opinion host knows exactly what they will talk about today. When they’re looking at themselves in the mirror that morning, as they brush their teeth, they are going over their speech and making it better — rehearsing; they know exactly what they want to tell you.

A journalist’s job is to give you unfiltered news. An opinion host’s job is to get you to think their way.

No journalist has gone to Mar-a-Lago yet.
