A Homeless Story... [1]

My friends,

I discovered DailyKos in 2016. Back then, I wrote as RockyLIvingstone. Since the beginning,, dKos has been my first choice for political info and commentary, and for news about the war in Ukraine. What I love more, however, is the strong sense of community shared by so many of the writers and readers of the site. As a former food co-op worker, I know what community should feel like. People helping one another doing good, practical work from which everyone benefits. That’s what DailyKos means to me.

Today, I come before you to ask for your help. My brother and I, both in our mid-seventies, have been housemates for decades. Right now, we are homeless. A second bout of long covid has left us unable to work, and we were evicted from our apartment in Gloucester, MA in September 2024. Since then, we’ve been staying with relatives and friends, while trying to qualify for subsidized housing.
