Civil War Anyone? [1]

From time to time on FoxNews, videos of 65+ men wearing "1776" shirts appear. Marjorie Taylor Greene keeps floating the idea of dividing the United States between Republicans and Dems. While I’m no expert on federal spending, I would predict these outcomes:

Medicare and Social Security would disappear. Red states cannot support their own elder and disabled populations.

Hospitals would close for lack of funding. Prescription drugs would not be manufactured.

Farmers would no longer be subsidized with federal dollars so the production of food would plummet.

Water treatment facility upgrades would cease. Clean water would become less reliable.

Disasters would be unrecoverable without federal money. Think Florida.

Schools and colleges would have to be reorganized. Grant money for technical training, research, scholarships, etc. would have to be re-thought.

The dollar would have to be assigned to one or the other country and would be devalued accordingly. It would no longer be the reserve currency of the world with the beneficiary being China. Treasury bonds would turn into junk.

These are only a few of the outcomes I could envision. We would be weakened militarily making us sitting ducks for our adversaries. Or...they could just get out the popcorn and watch our disintegrate.
