Thursday GNR: Living Like Lotuses [1]

We live in the world as if in the sky,

Just as the lotus blossom is not wetted by the water that surrounds it.

Pure and beyond the world is the Buddha Nature of the trainee.

Oh, Blessed Buddha, we go to you for refuge.

We also have two other refuges, truth/dharma and the society/sangha of followers of the truth. Gnusies also make a sangha as defined in Pali, Sanskrit, and Hindu, and there was in India a Mritak Sangh, an Association of Dead People with hundreds of members. Not actually dead, but declared legally dead by corrupt officials so that relatives could steal their property.

YMMV, of course, but there is no theology involved in following the Noble Eightfold Path and undoing your attachments and thus your suffering step by step. We have seen Zen Catholicism, Zen Judaism, Zen/Sufi Islam, and more. I have met a Buddhist monk who was also a part-time Russian Orthodox bishop. There is by definition no Zen MAGAism, because they deny the existence of karma, and live exclusively for attachment to privilege.

So come on in and enjoy the resistance.

But we will have no naming here of Him-Who-Should-Be-Named-Only-in-Court-Judgments (civil or criminal). We will have no graven images of the It. We well put aside everything that I cover in my [redacted] Appointments and Infighting posts, even the green shoots of karma that are springing up around the latest machinations of such people.
