Can the Truth Defeat the Lie in America Today? (9-minute VIDEO) [1]

The question could also be put: What kind of media system should Liberal America construct to counter the pernicious effects of the Fascist Media system (like Fox News)?

Various voices on the Pro-Democracy side have been calling for the building up of a media system that can be as powerful as the one that the Force of Fascism has successfully used to gain great power in America.

(Power so great that many voters cast their ballots on the basis of a False Reality that the liars on Fox News, etc., have been purveying.)So the question arises: what should such a new, countervailing media power be like?

I don't know much of the answer, but I think I do know an important piece based on my own experience -- a decade of doing talk radio (in the 1990s) to counteract the toxic effects of Rush Limbaugh in that medium, and another decade doing my own blog (starting in 2005) trying to rally the Pro-Democracy side to perceive, fight, and defeat the Fascistic Force gaining power in America.

The essence of that piece is that what's required is a focus on defeating the Lie with the Truth, as well as on overcoming the Division that the Liars (e.g. on Fox News) are continually working to foment.

Both of those goals -- which are interconnected, in the establishment of more of a shared reality -- require for their achievement more than just rallying our own troops. They also require some kind of engagement with the people who have been imbibing -- and then acting upon -- the Lies they're being fed by the Fascists.
